THE AUCKLAND FERRY BUILDING

In a curious turn of events, there was no official opening ceremony for the ferry building when it was completed in the early 20th century. To make up for the oversight, a formal ceremony was held after its renovation in 1988.

The Ferry Building serves as the centerpiece of harbor activity in Auckland. The building, built in 1912, is made of sandstone and brick.
